Community Involvement
Making a Difference in Our Communities
One of the founding principles of The Peerless Group is citizenship. Peerless recognizes the value of being involved in the communities were our employees live, work and play. In addition to our constant focus on improving internal operations, we also contribute to the general well being of our society. We want to contribute by being responsible corporate citizens and by sponsoring programs that benefit children, education, nutrition and the environment.
We are proud to be involved in various community projects. Our employees are known for their fundraising spirit, and Peerless supports their charitable initiatives through ITW's 3-to-1 Gift Matching Program. We also support United Way and the American Cancer Society’s main fundraiser, Relay for Life.
In addition, our employees have been involved in various assistance programs such as:
- Big Brothers and Big Sisters, which is a mentoring program that matches volunteers and children in need for attention and one-on-one relationships
- Tools for Schools, which is a Salvation Army program that collects school supplies to provide for children whose parents cannot afford the items necessary for their child(ren) to succeed in school in the Shelby County area.
- Community Blood Center, which operates solely to fulfill the need for blood, allograft tissue and specialized laboratory services to patients in the Miami Valley region.
- Grain Foods Foundation, which is a national nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing the public's understanding of the important role grain-based foods play in a healthful diet.
